There are 1,000 acres in NR. 27% is green space. There is a remaining 46% potential for planting trees and native plants.

Remove non-native shrubs and flowers. Create native ecosystems: prairies, savannas, woodlands, wetlands with native and keystone species.

Increase native plants/trees 30% by 2030 on public land/parkway, such as 26th street, Commons, Veterans Park, 22nd street.

Sustainability: large scale utilization of rain gardens to increase water absorption at both Commons and Veterans Parks.

Related to the redevelopment: create a survey for all residents to get more feedback related to what they would like to see.

North Riverside should have more public participation in government. Making decisions in a vacuum does not represent the community.

Improve intersection crossings to make them safer for pedestrians. Install speed bumps on Traube and 23rd, or install speed cameras.

Redevelopment of the mall: townhouses, public green spaces outside near the tracks. Target, Vertical Endeavors. Refer to Yorktown.

Use the existing structure of the mall to build indoor sports facilities for rent to schools/leagues/organizations.
